I woke up early this morning to go with my friend James to rent a car and travel out to some of the beaches. I had to have him drive because I can't figure out how to drive on the other side of the road & he's from Wales so it's normal to him. Even with him driving I still felt like we were going to get into an accident every time we turned into the left side of the road. It's really un-nerving! First we went SOUTH to Bondi Beach, It was incredible!!! GORGEOUS!!! I can't believe the beaches there are so nice! There were all kinds of surfers too (which is crazy because It's kinda cold) They make surfing look so easy! We watched them surf forever, it was like out of a movie! We walked along the beach there & then took the car to Coogi Beach which was also SO nice. We drove around all day looking at the suberbs here. It's so nice out there, much nicer than in Sydney. I mean Sydney is nice (however much more expensive than I imagined), but the city experience is really getting to me, especially since I've seen the smaller parts just outside the city. Absolutely stunning. It's like I lived my life until now knowing places like that existed because I've seen pictures, but not really understanding or appreciating how beautiful it really is. It was quite an experience. It rained a bit.. we saw a rainbow from end to end. Actually, all day we saw three different rainbows! What a fantastic day!! driving back to the city was a little different because of that big summit meeting downtown... basically right beside where we needed to be. We also didn't think about how hard it was going to be to park overnight. We eventually found a place, but it was expensive. We have the car until Sunday morning. Tomorrow we're going to go up the coast North to see more of the countryside. I'm very excited. I might even try driving if we get somewhere that's not busy.. at ALL!! Knowing me I'd drive straight into oncoming traffic. I'm going to watch some pool tonight. One of my new friends is in a tournament. It should be exciting!
